Orphée et Eurydice – Rehearsals

In a month’s time, I will be on stage together with a 20 strong ensemble and 3 principals (Orphée, Eurydice & Amour), accompanied by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. This year’s opera, Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice (1859 Berlioz revision), is directed by Denise Mulholland and will be re-imagined in the Victorian era. It is set to a libretto adapted by Pierre-Louis Moline and is based on the myth of Orpheus, who loved his wife Eurydice so dearly to even make an attempt to retrieve her from the underworld!

Rehearsals for this production have started back in November with Geoff Thomas, our chorus master. Mro. Philip Walsh, the orchestra conductor, joined us in January for a few rehearsals. Costumes are designed by Luke Azzopardi and are currently being fitted. This production will be held on the 16, 17, 19 & 20 of March at the Manoel Theatre.
